Die endoskopische Chirurgie wird ohne direkten Sichtkontakt zum Operationsbereich durchgeführt. Der Chirurg führt die Operationen durch, indem er lediglich auf den Bildschirm des Computers schaut. Der Operationsbereich wird zur visuellen Rückmeldung auf einem Monitor angezeigt. Während einer Operation kann die Bildqualität aufgrund von Verschlechterungen der endoskopischen Bilder gering sein. Das Ziel unserer Forschung ist es, das endoskopische Bild durch den Einsatz einer Bildzerlegungsmethode mit totaler Variation und Texturverbesserung zu optimieren. Mehrere Artikel befassen sich mit den Themen Erkennung von Highlights und Ersatz fehlender Bilddaten, aber uns ist keine Forschungsgruppe bekannt, die sich mit der allgemeinen Verbesserung endoskopischer Bilder befasst. In diesem Buch beschreiben wir die Methode der histogrammausgleichenden Texturverbesserung zur Optimierung endoskopischer Bilder.
