Ipak, Ignjatovic u ovom drustvenom romanu ne istrazuje samo konflikte između oceva i sinova, ili sudbinu samo jednog od njih, vec osvetljava i socijalne teme ondasnjeg vremena, pokazujuci kako promene kod generacija uticu na sudbine pojedinaca i drustva u celini.-----'Veciti mladozenja' ('The Eternal Bridegroom') is Ignjatovic’s masterwork, a nineteenth‑century classic that follows the rise of an ambitious merchant and the slow squandering of his legacy by the next generation. Set among traders in Szentendre, the story balances social comedy with moral clarity, touching on class, inheritance, and the restlessness of youth. This accessible, modern edition invites new readers to a cornerstone of Serbian realism-a novel as entertaining as it is wise.
