Le champ pétrolifère de Hemrin est constitué de trois dômes (Albufudhul, Nukhaila et Allas) allant du nord-ouest au sud-est. Ce champ produit du pétrole à partir des principaux réservoirs tertiaires (formations de l’Euphrate, de Jeribe et de Dhiban). Les analyses de l’eau de formation des réservoirs tertiaires révèlent de fortes variations et des différences de propriétés chimiques et physiques entre les dômes d’Albufudhul, de Nukhaila et d’Allas. La présente étude suggère que cette variation résulte de la percolation des eaux de surface (eau de pluie) à travers les fractures présentes dans l’anticlinal d’Hemrin, ce qui a entraîné une dégradation de la qualité du pétrole. C’est pourquoi cette étude met en évidence l’hydrogéochimie de l’eau de formation des réservoirs tertiaires à la suite de la percolation des eaux de surface.
