O fator social mais significativo é o género (com um valor de amplitude de 0,66). Neste trabalho, a variante [mu] é assumida como um sinal de feminilidade; portanto, é mais preferida pelas mulheres do que pelos homens. A idade é o segundo fator social significativo (com um valor de variação de 0,43). Isto pode dever-se à suposição de que os falantes jovens preferem formas menos complexas, daí o uso de [mu] em vez de [muʃ]. A escolaridade também é significativa (com um valor de intervalo de 0,26). De acordo com Al Wer (2013), a educação alarga as redes sociais e a mobilidade do indivíduo, pelo que este toma conhecimento das formas mais prestigiadas utilizadas na sua comunidade. Por último, a região também se revela significativa (com um valor de amplitude de 0,17). Os falantes de Amã Ocidental preferem [muʃ] em contraste com Amã Oriental, que preferem [mu].
