Van Bibber and Others is a collection of short stories written by American author Richard Harding Davis. The book features the titular character, Van Bibber, as well as other characters who are all members of New York’s high society. The stories are set in the late 19th century and offer a glimpse into the lives of the wealthy and privileged. In one story, Van Bibber attends a dinner party where he becomes embroiled in a love triangle between two women. In another, he is forced to confront a group of robbers who have taken over a train he is traveling on. The other stories in the collection feature a variety of characters, including a young woman who falls in love with a man from a lower social class, a wealthy businessman who is blackmailed by his former mistress, and a group of friends who embark on a hunting trip in the Adirondack Mountains.
