Nearly a thousand years ago Gawain was living his life as a simple farmhand, though he dreamt of returning to days of stimulating battles. Only he did not wish to return to the Vampire wars, he long ago fought. While praying at the local church he encounters Rhoslyn, a princess. This princess has an agenda of her own, and she too prays to any deity that will listen to her heart’s request. A happenstance in fate unites the two for a journey across the lands. Meeting Vikings, they together raise an army to fight against Rhoslyn’s personal demons. But, after all his time away from battle can Gawain still protect a strong-willed woman, who seeks to take back her country by force? The two progress onward through the spans of time. However, they go back and forth within their own minds remembering their past together, as they deal with the present-day situations that arise. In the present time, they are told of a woman that is very similar to Gawain. A woman, that like him, is not all Vampire, but not mortal either. Rhoslyn begins to dive into her own memories of the past and struggles to help her lover with his own villains. The secrets that come forward are only a fraction of what the past began, and the future becomes set with more uncertainties and revelations.
