كهف الألواح-The Cave of Tablets

كأن هناك من يتعمّد محو الدلائل التي تتوارى كلّما تقدّمنا في قراءة رواية الكاتب المغربي محمد سعيد احجيوج. من يكتب من؟ ومن يقبع في ذاكرة من؟ من يقفز من الشرفات؟ ومن يخُفي الجثث التي تسقط؟ قد يشعر القارئ بأنه يحتاج دليلاً لقراءة هذه الرواية. ففي تقنيّته الروائيّة المُحكمة، يتتبع احجيوج مسارات ومتاهات الذاكرة، واحتمالاتها الفالتة من أيّ سياق زمنيّ منطقيّ. لن يقدّم أحد لنا الدليل على أنّ ما حدث قد حدث حقّاً. هناك مجموعة من القصص التي لن نكتشف الرابط بينها إلا لاحقاً، رغم أنّ النهاية قد تكون مجرّد بداية أخرى. الرواية عبارة عن حركاتٍ سرديّة، أقرب إلى مشاهد تتكرّر في الرأس، لكن مع اختلافات بسيطة في كلّ مرّة، تظهر إمّا بتبدّل ملامح إحدى الشخصيّات وإمّا بتغيير اسمها، أو في تفاصيل من تاريخها العائلي. الأحداث التي تجري هي الثابت الوحيد. ومن خلال تكرارها، تصير القراءة والكتابة فعلاً واحداً. فالكتابة تبدو أقرب إلى استجابة قهريّة لنصّ يُملى على الكاتب، لنصّ أنجز مسبقاً، ولعلّ الكاتب، ليس إلّا شخصيّة أخرى في قصّة أحدهم، حيث الألواح القابعة داخل الكهف تنطوي على كلّ المصائر، وحيث الحياة هي أيضاً كتاب واحد بصفحات لا نستطيع حيالها شيئاً سوى ملء الفراغات بأسمائنا. بيان إبداعي ونقدي عن الرواية وكتابتها. Who is writing whom? And who lurks in the memory of whom? Who leaps from balconies? And who hides the bodies that fall?The reader might feel the need for a guide to read this novel. In his intricate narrative technique, Hjiouij traces the paths and labyrinths of memory, and its unreliable possibilities that escape any logical temporal context. No one will offer us evidence that what happened actually happened. There is a group of stories whose connection we will only discover later, even though the ending might be just the beginning of another.The novel consists of narrative movements, resembling scenes that are on repeat in the mind, but with slight variations each time, either through a change in the features of a character or a change in their name, or in details of their family history. The events that unfold are the only constants. Through their repetition, reading and writing become one. Writing seems to rather be a compulsive response to a text dictated to the author-a text already done. Perhaps the author is just another character in someone else’s story, where the tablets inside the cave contain all destinies, and where life itself is also a single book with pages we can do nothing about but fill with our names.'An artistic and critical statement about the novel and its writing.
