منزل الذكريات-House of Memories

كتب ياسوناري كواباتا الجميلات النائمات عام 1961، وفي عامه التسعين، خطا بطل غابريال غارسيا ماركيز الطريق نفسه نحو البحث في موضوع الرغبة في روايته ذكريات عن عاهراتي الحزينات (2004). اليوم، يُدخلنا الروائي الفلسطيني محمود شقير، في روايته منزل الذكريات، عالم الكاتبين المذكورين، من خلال الكتابة مثلهما عن الشيخوخة ورغباتها وفقدها. في روايته التي تستحضر الروايتين، يتداخل الخيال مع الجانب الواقعي لمدينة القدس، حيث تجري الأحداث. فمحمد الأصغر، بطل منزل الذكريات الذي يخسر زوجته سناء على غفلةٍ منه، مأخوذ بهما، يقرأهما بلا توقف، لكن بطليهما لا يغادرانه بعد أن ينتهي من القراءة، بل يقبعان برفقته، تجمعه معهما الأحاديث والنقاشات. غير أنّ الخيال له حدود في هذه البلاد. فالواقع الفلسطيني المرير يُلقي بظلاله على أحداث الرواية، بحدوده وقوّات احتلاله، والحواجز اليوميّة لأبناء البلاد. ثمّة من يُلاحق الراوي، حتّى في المساحة المعزولة لنومه وأحلامه. وبينما يحدّق الموت في بطل الرواية باستمرار، تأخذ أحداث الرواية شكل الشيخوخة وهواجسها وخرفها، في واقعٍ لا يظلّ واقعاً تماماً، وخيالٍ لا يرتقي للتفلت المطلق. Yasunari Kawabata wrote 'The House of Sleeping Beauties' in 1961, and in his novel 'Memories of My Melancholy Whores' (2004), Gabriel García Márquez’s ninety-year-old hero follows the same path, reflecting upon the feeling of desire. Now, Palestinian novelist Mahmoud Shukair takes us into the world of the aforementioned authors through his novel 'House of Memories' (Manzel Al Zekrayat) by writing, like them, about old age, its desires and its losses.In his novel, which evokes the other two, fact and fiction are intertwined in Jerusalem where the story takes place. Mohamad Al-Asghar, hero of 'House of Memories' (Manzel Al Zekrayat), who loses his wife Sanaa because of his own negligence, is taken with the two novels and never stops reading them. And, even after he’s finished reading, their heroes don’t leave his side, they remain in his company and join him in conversations and debates. However, fiction is limited in this country. As such, the bitter Palestinian reality casts its shadow over the events of the story with its borders, occupation forces and daily obstacles faced by people of the country. There’s someone chasing after the narrator, even in the loneliness of his sleep and his dreams. While death continuously stares the hero of the story in the eye, the events take on the form of old age, its obsessions and its senility, in a reality that doesn’t remain completely real and a fiction that doesn’t amount to an absolute escape.
