He is Arab, yet not Arab. In fact, he is the most Arab and the most Lebanese. Among all the homelands that tore at his being, he chose the most tenacious, and it wans’t imposed upon him. It betrayed him, yet he remained sick with love for it. Now he is the son of all homelands. All houses are his house, and he has no home. His only refuge was the chest of a grandmother who vanished, and his soul, his first name, his first cry and his first identity refuse to let go of these ties...
