Urine-incontinentie wordt gedefinieerd als het onvrijwillig verlies van urine als gevolg van blaas- of sfincterdisfunctie die een sociaal, hygiënisch en psychologisch probleem veroorzaakt. Het doel van het onderzoek was het bepalen van de prevalentie van urine-incontinentie en of deze invloed heeft op de kwaliteit van leven van oudere vrouwen die in het verpleeghuis San Vicente de Paúl wonen. De studie is beschrijvend, kwalitatief, kwantitatief en epidemiologisch van punctuele prevalentie, de onderzoeksopzet is niet-experimenteel, transversaal. De onderzoekspopulatie was 31 vrouwen boven de 65 jaar. De sociodemografische kaart, de urine-incontinentietest (ICIQ-IU-SF) en de levenskwaliteitstest (I-QOL) werden toegepast.
