The genre of novel has an important and unique position in the prose genres of Urdu literature. This genre of literature gives a complete picture of life. In it, various accidents, situations and events and problems and issues of life are described in detail and in a very interesting manner. The genre of novel in Urdu is given by English literature. This genre of Urdu novel is no longer restricted in thematic and technical terms, but it has now expanded. Various novelists have made many additions and experiments in it. Due to which the technical level of the novel has increased even more and thus the Urdu novel has been inclined towards evolution. In this book, a research and critical review of the art of some well-known and popular Urdu novelists has been presented./اردو ادب کی نثری اصناف میں ناول کی صنف ایک اہم اور منفرد مقام کی حامل ہے۔ ادب کی یہ صنف زندگی کی مکمل تصویر کشی کرتی ہے۔ اس میں زندگی کے مختلف حادثات ، حالات و واقعات اور مسائل و معاملات کو قدرے تفصیل سے اور نہایت ہی دلچسپ پیرائے میں بیان کیا جاتا ہے۔ اردو میں ناول کی صنف انگریزی ادب کی دین ہے۔ اردو ناول کی یہ صنف موضوعی اور فنی لحاظ سے اب مقید نہیں، بلکہ اس میں اب وسعت آ گئی ہے۔ مختلف ناول نگاروں نے اس میں بہت اضافے کئے ہیں، تجربات کیے ہیں۔ جس سے ناول کے فنی مرتبے میں حتیٰ الوسع اضافے ہوئے ہیں اور یوں اردو ناول کا دامن ارتقاء کی طرف مائل ہوا ہے۔ اس کتاب میں اردو کے چند معروف اور مقبول ناول نگاروں کے فن کا تحقیقی و تنقیدی جائزہ پیش کیا گیا ہے۔
