Before the introduction and promotion of the fable, novel and short story, what were the components or elements of Urdu prose that could be placed under the category of story? Or to which the story can be applied or whose relationship can be linked with the story in some way? In other words, in what background did the genres of stories or short novels emerge in Urdu or to what extent did the elements from which they were fermented benefit from the ancient prose literature of Urdu?
