Mitchell Daniels’ better known as MD in the streets, was born and raised in Memphis, TN, as a product of two worlds. MD’s mother, Kendi, was from Germantown, TN, a suburb of Memphis. Kendi’s parents tried to keep her under lock and key, causing her to rebel. That rebellion eventually led her to Xavier. Xavier, better known as X in the streets of Memphis, was a well-known gangster, hustler, drug dealer, and killer. Kendi, naïve to the streets and the opposite sex, was no match for X’s charisma, and the two fell in love shortly after meeting. MD was a product of that love. Despite the repeated attempts from his parents to keep MD from his father’s world, MD followed right in his footsteps, earning his own name in the streets as a hustler and a killer. MD inherited his mother’s book sense and his father’s street savvy, keeping him successful in the streets and in school. He had love in the streets, and he showed love for everyone in his circle. That love turned out to be his weakness and was exposed by his cousin Shabazz. Shabazz was the son of MD’s uncle Knot, who was X’s brother. Shabazz quickly grew jealous of MD and his notoriety. The betrayal by Shabazz sent MD down a dark and murderous hole, awakening a darkness that he tried to keep bottled up. After a killing spree driven by revenge, he decided to honor his parents’ wishes and leave Memphis and move to Jacksonville, Florida.In Jacksonville, MD created a new life for himself, leaving the street life and the moniker MD behind in Memphis. Now living as Mitchell, he earned a bachelor’s degree and started some successful profitable businesses. As he was becoming a successful businessman, he also found love. Something he thought he would never find. Life could not have been any better for Mitchell, or so he thought. On what he felt was the best day of his life, a phone call changed in an instant, sending him back to Memphis on another murderous rampage, bringing MD out of retirement. Years running from his past have finally come full circle. What can he do? What will he do to escape that Urban Mind State?
