At the time of the publication of this historical record, Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church will have reached an important milestone - the celebration of the 129th Anniversary of the church. It is, therefore, quite appropriate that we pause once again to look at other milestones which comprise the rich history of this great church. Our first history book, Unveiling the Past, A History of Pleasant Green, reached back to the church's inception - 1885 and carried us to the year 2002. This volume provided an accurate picture of how church life was conducted in the past, while providing insight into the goals, aspirations, and accomplishments of the congregation from 1885 to 2002. Our current volume of the church's history will reveal the significant events, goals, and accomplishments of Pleasant Green Baptist Church during the past ten years - 2003 to 2013. It will continue the story of Pleasant Green where volume one ended. This document is written to emphasize the importance of continuing the documentation of church history with the realization that history is on-going and doesn't stop in time with a particular year. Volume Two of Unveiling the Past, A History of Pleasant Green will reveal the joys and triumphs of the congregation as well as the disappointments and subsequent challenges. It will reveal the perseverance and determination of the church to survive and worship the Lord with gladness. Throughout these years, the church has held on to the belief that better times are on the horizon, and with God's grace the church will be able to accomplish much and exemplify our current church theme: 'Greatness Through Godly Growth'. Finally, the History Committee of Pleasant Green hopes that this volume will serve as a foundation and inspiration to other able historians of the future to continue the documentation of church history. 3
