Unveiling the Forbidden Arabic Grimoires

In the intellectual history of the Islamicate civilization, the boundaries delineating empirical science, systematic theology, and the occult sciences were never rigid; rather, they constituted a space of continuous intersection and epistemological cross-pollination. This book serves as a comprehensive and deconstructive guide to the system of the Five Hidden Sciences, encapsulated in the iconic mnemonic Kulluhu Sirr (It is all a mystery): Kimiya (Alchemy), Limiya (Talismanry/Spirit Subjugation), Himiya (Astral Magic), Simiya (Letter Magic), and Rimiya (Conjuring/Illusionism).This extensive work takes you on a meticulous research journey through the Abbasid era and beyond, exploring the esoteric heritage and metaphysical philosophy that shaped the consciousness of that epoch. The book delves deep into the Science of Letters (’Ilm al-Huruf), which views the alphabet not merely as a tool for communication, but as the structural DNA and ontological fabric of the entire universe. By reviewing the profound visions of complex historical and mystic figures like Mansour al-Hallaj and his concept of the secret of the dot and its transition from the material world to spiritual resurrection, the book opens new horizons for understanding historical narratives. This exceptional work is specifically designed for those interested in esoteric philosophy, providing a sociological and jurisprudential analysis of the dilemma of magic in the Islamic tradition, including critical insights from Ibn Khaldun and Ibn Taymiyyah. You will discover how the cosmos was engineered through talismans and magic squares, and how foundational manuscripts like Shams al-Ma’arif al-Kubra by Ahmad al-Buni and Ghayat al-Hakim (Picatrix) by Pseudo-Majriti influenced occult thought. The book comprehensively covers the following themes and subjects:An exhaustive analysis of Himiya as the science of astral magic that synthesizes higher spiritual forces with base terrestrial elements to produce awe-inspiring effects. An exploration of talismanic engineering and the science of Limiya for spirit subjugation, highlighting the three-by-three magic squares (Buduh square) and the Seven Seals of Solomon.A deconstruction of Kimiya (Alchemy) and its transition from the laboratories of Jabir ibn Hayyan to the alchemy of happiness and the refinement of the human soul.A study of Simiya and the mathematical and linguistic foundation of the cosmos through the Abjad system, the alphabet, and the deployment of the Divine Names.Unveiling the secrets of Rimiya (Illusionism) and its reliance on optical illusions, physics, complex mechanical automata, and chemistry to mislead human perception.
