Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Wirtschaft und Industrie, Note: 1,0, Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (Soziologie), Veranstaltung: Spezielle Soziologie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Nach Jahrzehnten neoklassisch geprägten Diskurses, in denen versucht wurde die Ökonomie primär durch technisch-mathematische Modelle zu erfassen, kehrt man seit einigen Jahren wieder vermehrt zu den Ursprüngen der Disziplin, im Sinne einer Kombination von Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften zurück. Der Gedanke dass die Ökonomie nicht als von sozialen Prozessen abgekapselt betrachtet werden kann, gewinnt also wieder an Bedeutung. Die starke Verbindung zwischen Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft soll in dieser Arbeit anhand des Einflusses von sozialen Faktoren auf die unternehmerischen Innovationsprozesse dargelegt werden. Dabei soll sowohl die historische Entwicklung der Innovationstheorie beleuchtet werden, als auch das Konzept des Sozialkapitals, welches die direkte Verbindung zwischen unternehmerischem Erfolg und sozialen Netzwerken darstellt.
