Hier stellen wir eine vergleichende Studie zur Fixierung mit bioresorbierbaren Platten und Titan-Miniplatten bei der Behandlung von Unterkieferfrakturen vor. Dabei wurde die Wirksamkeit bioresorbierbarer Platten mit Titan-Miniplatten in Bezug auf Anpassungsfähigkeit, Auswirkungen auf die Frakturlinie, Kosten und Komplikationen verglichen. Aus unseren Beobachtungen lässt sich schließen, dass bioresorbierbare Platten vernachlässigbare Komplikationen, gute Handhabungseigenschaften, keine Kälteempfindlichkeit und gute Ergebnisse bei der Behandlung von Unterkieferfrakturen aufweisen. Die hohen Kosten des Materials sind jedoch das größte Hindernis für eine breitere Anwendung, und es sind weitere Forschungen auf diesem Gebiet im Hinblick auf den Einsatz bei der Behandlung von Unterkieferfrakturen erforderlich. Da Titan-Miniplatten im Vergleich zu bioresorbierbaren Platten viel billiger sind, können Patienten, die sich keine bioresorbierbaren Platten leisten können, mit Titan-Miniplatten eine ebenso gute Behandlung erhalten.
