An Empirical Study of the Relationship Between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Adolescent Substance Abuse (Uno studio empirico sulla relazione tra il disturbo da stress post-traumatico e l’abuso di sostanze da parte degli adolescenti) cerca di affrontare la co-morbidità del disturbo da stress post-traumatico e della dipendenza chimica. Utilizza indagini e analisi statistiche su una popolazione rilevante situata nella California meridionale. Lo studio è stato progettato utilizzando tre teorie complementari: (a) la psicologia cognitivo-comportamentale, (b) la teoria dei sistemi familiari e (c) la teoria dello sviluppo. Lo studio si è basato su un disegno di ricerca comparativa causale, con l’obiettivo dell’analisi statistica di esplorare le relazioni tra le variabili indipendenti e dipendenti.
