Inspired by some of the most well known psychologists throughout history, such as Roszak, Freud and Jung, as well as philosopher Nietzsche and playwright Shakespeare, Carenza takes a look into their dreams and subconscious in order to make sense of the brain and the world in which we live. Carenza makes a point in their book to share information about psychology and the brain in an accessible way in order to play their part in eradicating the stigma surrounding mental health. Named Unfiltered for its boldness and the author’s desire to change how people with mental illness are viewed, this book opens up many a conversation. A contemporary author and human being trying to make sense of life, brought about in Carenza’s unique style incorporating poetry. What happens when we dream? What is going on in our subconscious? Inspired by what they learnt at university, Carenza offers up their own mind in order to get the conversation started! Carenza believes we are all connected and that our similarities are more than our differences. Carenza feels a strong solidarity with others. Carenza hopes that their desire to bring people together shows throughout their work.
