Through vivid conversations, Grammy shares captivating tales of how their great-great grandmother Fannie made quilts and that these quilts were used by enslaved people to communicate important messages and guide fellow freedom seekers to the Underground Railroad, a secret network leading to freedom.Inspired by these stories, Kiya and Malik’s curiosity turns into a creative spark. Together these two secret agents decide to make a special Juneteenth-themed quilt patterns, symbolizing their celebration of freedom and African American heritage. They use these patterns to spread their own message of the Juneteenth celebration happening in town.
