Dichiarazione del problema: Essendo un’organizzazione con obiettivi e focus, è naturale che le parti interessate e le altre società vogliano avere informazioni accurate e adeguate sulle attività della Jama’at e sui suoi lasciti, che al momento non sono disponibili in un unico volume. L’obiettivo è quello di colmare questa lacuna fornendo un’opera ben documentata e di alto livello di ricerca su un’importante organizzazione islamica in Nigeria, la Jama’at Nasril Islam. Abstract: Molto è stato scritto sull’avvento e lo sviluppo dell’Islam in Nigeria. Non è stata prestata molta attenzione ai contributi delle organizzazioni indigene che sono state i principali veicoli della sua propagazione. La Jama’at Nasril Islam (JNI), fondata nel 1961 dal defunto Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna di Sokoto, è una di queste organizzazioni. Le metodologie adottate in questo lavoro comprendono procedure storiche e descrittive. Inoltre, sono state utilizzate fonti primarie e secondarie, tra cui interviste orali alle parti interessate, nonché materiali di biblioteca e d’archivio. La ricerca si proponeva di valutare gli sforzi del JNI per lo sviluppo dell’Islam in Nigeria. Inoltre, il lavoro ha esaminato l’impatto delle attività del JNI sulla Ummah musulmana.
