Il libro che vi presentiamo affronta il problema metafisico del rapporto mente-corpo. L’obiettivo è quello di presentare le varie teorie della mente emerse nel corso della storia della filosofia. Si riafferma qui la teoria della 'Tesi dei tre mondi' di K. Popper. Popper, con enfasi sul terzo mondo, come una delle spiegazioni più ingegnose del problema. Allo stesso tempo, viene sottolineata l’inadeguatezza dei monismi e dei dualismi nel tentativo di rispondere al problema. Naturalmente, questo problema ha subito diversi cambiamenti nel suo approccio, in quanto la ricerca sul cervello umano è progredita notevolmente dal 'decennio del cervello' (1990). Pertanto, insieme al problema della filosofia della scienza, è uno dei maggiori problemi della storia della filosofia contemporanea, che richiede ulteriori studi.
