A rede móvel ad hoc (MANET) é uma rede descentralizada, multi-hop e dinâmica com infraestrutura mínima. Portanto, é necessário que elas sejam auto-organizadas, auto-reparáveis, auto-configuradas e adaptáveis a mudanças frequentes na rede. A otimização de colónias de formigas apresenta um paradigma de resolução de problemas que se adapta à dinâmica e mobilidade das redes móveis ad hoc. Neste artigo, propomos um novo algoritmo de roteamento AntHocNet-LS (equipado com serviço de localização) inspirado no AntHocNet, que depende de agentes móveis simples e da sua inteligência coletiva para a tarefa de roteamento. O algoritmo tem um melhor desempenho em parâmetros de desempenho importantes, como taxa de entrega de pacotes e sobrecarga de controlo.
