''Twelve Years Ago: A Tale'' is a novel written by Sydney Warburton in 1847. The story takes place twelve years prior to the events of the novel, and follows the life of a young woman named Rosalind. Rosalind is the daughter of a wealthy family, and has grown up in a life of luxury and privilege. However, she becomes disillusioned with her life and decides to run away from home.Rosalind’s journey takes her to a small village, where she meets a man named John. John is a farmer, and the two quickly fall in love. However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that Rosalind is from a wealthy family, and John is a simple farmer. Despite this, the two continue to see each other in secret. As the story progresses, Rosalind’s family learns of her whereabouts and sends a group of men to retrieve her. John and Rosalind are forced to flee the village and go into hiding. The two are eventually separated, and Rosalind is left to fend for herself.''Twelve Years Ago: A Tale'' is a story of love, loss, and the struggle for independence. It explores themes of social class, gender roles, and the consequences of one’s actions. The novel is a classic example of Victorian literature, and is still widely read and studied today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
