Turtle’s Walk: From Addiction to Authority is the powerful and deeply personal autobiography of Bishop Virgil Calvin Jones Sr.-a man whose life journey was transformed by faith, perseverance, and divine purpose.Raised in Jacksonville, Florida, in a home grounded in faith and strong family values, Jones faced painful seasons of struggle, including addiction that threatened to destroy his future. Yet through prayer, spiritual guidance, discipline, and life-changing encounters with God, he discovered that even in his darkest moments, God was still ordering his steps. What once appeared to be failure became preparation. What felt like bondage became deliverance. In this inspiring testimony, Bishop Jones shares how obedience to God led him from addiction and uncertainty into a life of leadership, healing, and spiritual authority. His story is a reminder that no life is beyond redemption and no past is too broken for God to restore.More than an autobiography, Turtle’s Walk is a message of hope for anyone searching for purpose, freedom, and transformation. When God orders your steps, even addiction can become the beginning of authority.
