Von diesen sind 80 % gutartig, während nur etwa 50 % der submandibulären Tumoren undetwa 25 % der kleineren Speicheldrüsenneoplasien gutartig sind. Obwohl extremextrem selten, sind Tumore der Unterzungendrüse fast immer bösartig.
