L’année 2025 restera dans l’histoire comme celle d’un basculement, d’un effacement de l’ordre mondial fondé sur des règles et d’un recul important de la démocratie. L’impression prévaut d’un désordre international chargé d’incertitudes et d’un avenir préoccupant mais difficile à décrypter. Derrière ces incertitudes, les grandes puissances montrent pourtant l’émergence d’un nouveau modèle sociopolitique qui pourrait préfigurer le futur ordre mondial. Avec l’autoritarisme qui prospère sur le recul de la démocratie, un capitalisme conquérant et un nationalisme convoqué comme légitimation, ce modèle est celui du National Capitalisme Autoritaire - ou NaCA - qu’il convient d’analyser pour mieux comprendre les défis qu’il pose au capitalisme libéral et démocratique auquel étaient attachées les sociétés occidentales, européennes en particulier. Pierre-Yves Hénin propose une double grille d’analyse, en examinant les modalités contemporaines des trois piliers : autoritarisme, nationalisme et capitalisme, mais aussi les exemples privilégiés que constituent la Chine, paradigme du NaCA, la Russie de Poutine et le processus de transition engagé à marche forcée par Donald Trump.
