Platon Tchoumatchenco e o Acad. Todor Nikolov publicaram a sua investigação sobre a vida e a criatividade científica de três geólogos búlgaros de origem russa - Doc. Eng. Andrei Janichevsky (1904-1949), Dr. Rostislav Beregov (1908-1946) e Dr. Svetlana Černjavska (1929-2002). Dois deles chegaram à Bulgária após a Guerra Civil na Rússia com as suas famílias; S. Černjavska nasceu na Sérvia e mudou-se para a Bulgária depois de 1948. Doc. Eng. Andrei Janichevsky era especialista em geologia de depósitos de minério, geologia regional e geologia das rochas metamórficas de Strandzha e Rhodopes (Sul da Bulgária). O Dr. Rostislav Beregov era especialista nas bacias carboníferas do Terciário - carvão castanho e lenhite, na estratigrafia e na paleontologia do Terciário. A Dra. Svetlana Černjavska foi a fundadora da Paleopalinologia na Bulgária e estudou os palinomorfos do Paleogénico (Sudoeste e Nordeste da Bulgária e Montanhas Rhodopes) e os palinomorfos do Jurássico Inferior e Médio de afloramentos terrestres (Stara Planina Oriental) e os poços profundos para prospeção de petróleo e gás na Plataforma Moesiana no Norte e Nordeste da Bulgária.
