La trichotillomanie, ou trouble de l’arrachage des cheveux, est un trouble psychologique qui a souvent des répercussions négatives sur les personnes qui en souffrent tout au long de leur vie. Cependant, les essais scientifiques sont insuffisants et les études de recherche sur ce trouble manquent. Ce livre examine l’efficacité thérapeutique des traitements de la trichotillomanie et trouve des interventions alternatives à la thérapie cognitivo-comportementale (TCC) et aux médicaments, qui sont des traitements courants du trouble de l’arrachage des cheveux. Les données ont été collectées par le biais d’entretiens en face à face ou par téléphone avec des praticiens professionnels ; l’interprétation herméneutique a été utilisée pour l’analyse des données dans le cadre d’une approche paradigmatique phénoménologique de la recherche.
