A greedy land developer thinks he can score one more big deal by stripping a beautiful hillside of oak trees to build his houses. He cares nothing for the local history or character of the sleepy town that guards the trees. As his work crew begins the project, strange things begin to happen to his equipment and his people. A big city cast of characters forms his investment board and presses him to complete the project on time and under budget. But then Mother Nature takes over. In an effort to get to the bottom of the problems, Sam Hood makes a trip up to the wooded hills one dark and stormy night. He is not prepared for what he discovers, but then realizes that he should have put two and two together. As members of his work crew go out in search of him that dark rainy night, the crew meets up with two of his investment team who are also searching for him after reading a report that warns people not to damage the trees. Hood loses his way and the search party, well...
