Dear Reader,It was a cold winter day in January when all our family and friends gathered for our father’s funeral. It was a wonderful service, my sister had put together a beautiful video portraying our father’s life that brought both laughter and tears to everyone.Afterward, my sister asked the Pastor to pray for us, so we found a quiet corner, and the Pastor prayed a prayer over my brother, sister, and I. I don’t remember the words to that prayer, but, I do know that everything changed for me after that.When I got back home I dug out my old Bible and dusted it off. I remember tossing it down on our small kitchen table and saying out loud to myself, 'Now, I will find out just exactly what God has to say...about everything.'I devoured that Bible, I couldn’t stop reading. And when I was finished the first time I started again a second time. God was telling me exactly what he had to say about everything.I never wrote poetry before, but poems and psalms began to fill my mind, and as they did I wrote them down. Each one portrays a moment of time as I learned of his love and his Word, for out of the mouth flow the treasures of the heart.
