Set in contemporary Greece, a man and a woman who met briefly decades earlier are mysteriously reunited when a massive storm virtually throws them together. Was it in the power of the ancient Greek Gods to manage the destinies of two very disparate people? As a young girl, Nina dreamt of a prince who would take her to another country. When an international ice skating trainer arrived into her life, her dreams were transformed into reality. After college, she went on her first trip to Greece where she met Dario, a young Portuguese lawyer and fell in love. There she met Demetrios and Penelope, who became her lifelong friends. A year later she and Dario married. The young couple was happy and looked forward to a bright future when suddenly this dream, like the one in her youth, turned into a terrible nightmare. Some years later she met Alfonso, a Count living in a big castle. A mature love grew between the two and she became his wife. Yet another nightmare occurred when Alfonso died of leukemia a few years later. At age 35 she was a widow for the second time. Nina decided to return to her favorite Greek island where she stayed at a beautiful hotel on a peninsula owned by her friends Demetrios and Penelope. There, her adventures and those of the other characters in the book continue.
