L’évaluation neuropsychologique est conçue pour fournir des informations plus détaillées et plus analytiques sur les capacités cognitives que l’évaluation neurologique.Le principal avantage d’une évaluation neuropsychologique est qu’elle permet d’établir un diagnostic précis des troubles du patient lorsque les autres thérapeutes ne savent pas exactement de quoi il s’agit. Cela permet d’introduire un traitement plus coûteux, car il est basé sur les symptômes accrédités du trouble. Cela permet également de mieux prévoir la réaction du patient au protocole de traitement appliqué.
