In this book I chose a small selection of poems from Trauma Monsters: A Collection of Poetry to be 'broken down' and analyzed. I decided to collaborate with Nick Fury, when I discovered his uncanny ability to dissect words to uncover what’s hidden. His writing style is very intricate, so I knew he could take on this project even when he was unsure of himself. He was able to expose parts of my work that opened other emotional doors. I mean, I actually cried after reading how he interpreted my pieces. So that let me know, the healing process isn’t over. (Side note: Poets if you’ve never had your work broken down in this way I highly recommend it. It will change the way you view your craft.)I hope this book can be used as a tool to help people understand the nuances that make up poetry.

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular.
