Este estudo de investigação fornece o tratamento da OA do joelho na articulação patelo-femoral. A osteoartrite é um problema comum a muitas pessoas após a meia-idade. A osteoartrite é por vezes referida como artrite degenerativa ou de desgaste. A osteoartrite pode resultar de uma lesão no joelho numa fase anterior da vida. As fracturas que envolvem a superfície das articulações, a instabilidade provocada por rupturas dos ligamentos e as lesões meniscais podem provocar um desgaste anormal da articulação do joelho. A aplicação de bandas adesivas na rótula é um método simples, seguro e económico de aliviar a dor a curto prazo em doentes com osteoartrite da articulação patelo-femoral.
