This book aims to contribute to worldwide debates on internationalization. It offers new insights and perspectives on internationalization and trans-national higher education (TNHE) with contributions from three continents. These include the student experience in Malaysia, China, Japan and India as well as institutional perspectives and pedagogical implications of new research. The authors offer analysis of how TNHE affects students, teachers and institutions within and across continents.Countries and systems which are relatively new to hosting international students go through similar processes of adaptation by students, faculty members and university managers alike. Authors from the USA and Malaysia show experiences of internationalization in common with those reported elsewhere. Education systems and planning in China and Japan are very different from the Anglophones models are described in terms of the most recent changes, with changes in student flows also. Readers will find here new information on TNHE to deepen their understanding and enhance their research.
