This book is based on the journal kept by Rachel Evans. The day Evans decided to start drinking alcohol she bought a journal and started writing. Having grown up in an alcoholic family she knew intellectually that drinking wouldn’t solve anything. Emotionally she hoped it would stop her from feeling the pain of failed relationships, and her complete lack of self-worth. Evans started drinking alcoholically from the start and it didn’t take long before she knew that she was headed for complete self-destruction and she was powerless to stop the path she was on. The author, at times feeling she was going crazy, wrote in her journal her thoughts and fears she couldn’t tell anyone else. The journal also chronicles her struggle to find sobriety, and to fight off the fear, panic attacks and damage done by drinking.
