Tragic Tales V1: Coningsby, And Lord Brokenhurst (1820) is a book written by Brydges Egerton. It is a collection of two tragic tales that were published in 1820. The first tale, Coningsby, is a story about a young man who falls in love with a woman who is already engaged to another man. Despite his love for her, Coningsby decides to let her go and marry the man she is engaged to. The second tale, Lord Brokenhurst, is about a man who is haunted by the ghost of his dead wife. He becomes obsessed with her and eventually dies from his obsession. Both tales are tragic and explore themes of love, loss, and obsession. The book is written in a Gothic style and is considered to be a classic of the genre. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world’s literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
