Die Autorin hat in ihrer Doktorarbeit jahrelang die Ursprünge der neuheidnischen Hexerei (Wicca) im Nachkriegs-England und ihre anschließende Verpflanzung nach Amerika erforscht, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf den Veränderungen und den neuen Erscheinungsformen lag, die entstanden, als diese Religion den Atlantik überquerte, zunächst in den Vereinigten Staaten und dann in Brasilien. Um dieses Projekt zu verwirklichen, hat die Autorin mit namhaften englischen und brasilianischen Wiccans zusammengearbeitet, von denen einige direkt mit den ersten Hexengruppen verbunden waren, die in den 1950er Jahren in England entstanden.
