Wijnand Steemers (Wageningen, 1947) is dichter en schilder. Zijn werk, hoewel schatplichtig aan het surrealisme, neemt een autonome positie in binnen de Nederlandse poëtische traditie. Hij is auteur van een twintigtal poëziebundels, waaronder Droomfabriek (1981), Filippines (2002) en Sed non satiata (2009), alsook van het essayistische Het Blinde Zienerschap (1996) en Poëtocratie (2006). Daarnaast vertaalde hij werk van Poe, Rimbaud en Novalis en dichtte hij onlangs Beeldpiraten & Bermtoeristen (2016) bij monotypen van Fred Michiels.
