Few studies if any have been published to determine whether a topical Acetic acid is safe, effective and efficacious than Gentamicin sulfate ear drops when used on non-intact tympanic membrane of patients with Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM) . So we designed the present prospective and observational study to evaluate the efficacy, safety and cost effectiveness of 1.5% topical acetic acid and 0.3% topical Gentamicin in Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media patients who attended the OPD of ENT Department of Teerthanker Mahaveer medical College And Research Centre, TMU, Moradabad, UP, India during a period of 10th month (March to December) 2014.
