Time Will Tell

Time Will Tell is a sweeping Australian story of war, loyalty, love, and the long shadows cast by the past. The journey begins in the mid -1960s, as a group of young men - James 'Birdcage' Avery, Wayne 'Macca' McDougall, Ted 'Knocker' White, and their mates - are called up for service and forged into soldiers at Kapooka before being sent to Vietnam. Bound by humour, hardship, and unbreakable mateship, they endure the chaos of war, where split-second decisions and hidden truths will echo across decades.Returning home, the men attempt to rebuild their lives across Sydney’s beaches and suburbs. Businesses are started, families are formed, and the surface of normal life slowly takes shape. But the past never truly lets go. Old wounds - both seen and unseen - linger beneath the everyday, shaping choices, relationships, and destinies. At the heart of the story lies Birdcage, a man trying to outrun both his past and himself, and Macca, whose quiet determination drives him to uncover the truth behind a crime that refuses to rest. As a murder investigation unfolds years later, it draws in not only the surviving veterans but also the next generation - James and Helen - whose lives become entwined in ways neither of them could have imagined.Secrets buried since Vietnam begin to surface. Loyalties are tested. Identities are shaken. And as the investigation deepens, the lines between justice, revenge, and truth begin to blur.Spanning nearly fifty years, from the battlefields of Vietnam to the streets of modern-day Sydney, Time Will Tell is a powerful story of brotherhood, sacrifice, and the enduring impact of the choices we make.Because some truths never stay buried......and in the end, time will tell.
