This inspirational story of survival and empowerment is intertwined with countless resilient warriors who’ve also overcome the most poignant of challenges. Out of the darkness, we arise. We are not just survivors. We are Pathfinders. We lead the way into reconciliation and healing with our sacred Mother Earth. Guided by the white buffalo, our ancestors, and the prophecies of our Indigenous Nations, we are the children of the stars, and we remember who we are. It is time for all to unshackle their chains and realize their limitless, multidimensional powers. We are here to assist. We must stand in full truth, love, and connection, because Mother Earth has begun her ascension. Soon, is our time to thrive, but first we must survive this time of chaos and confusion.Written by Stephanie Big Eagle, Thunderbird Rising is her memoir of Reconnection, Resilience, & Empowerment that is intended to serve as a survival guide through this time of chaos and confusion, from her own experience. It is also a reminder that no matter what you may be going through, you are not alone.Stephanie Big Eagle is Ihanktonwan Dakota, Isanti Dakota, and Kul Wicasa Lakota on her father’s side. She is of Celtic, Nordic, and Indigenous ancestry on her mother’s side. She is featured in Season 2: Episode 2 of 'Skindigenous,' a thirteen-part documentary series exploring Indigenous tattooing traditions around the world, airing on PBS and APTN television networks. She graduated from Sacramento City College with an Associates of Science Degree in Biology in 2016. During the same year, she was educated in the traditional technique of handpoke tattoo, and created her first tattoo design, the Standing Rock Tattoo. The founder of Thunderbird Rising Studios, she is an experienced Traditional Handpoke Tattoo artist, an Indigenous and environmental activist, a public speaker, a singer-songwriter, a Fancy Shawl Dancer, and a fashion model who tours nationally and internationally to share her art, knowledge, and presence. For more information or bookings visit www.stephbigeagle.com.
