National Science Talent Scholar and awardee of The National Scholarship by The Ministry of Education, GoI, Dr. Rita Malhotra is a mathematician, essayist, poet, and translator. Former Principal and Professor of Mathematics at Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi, Dr. Malhotra was the recipient of the prestigious French-Government Post-Doctoral Fellowship for research in Mathematics at The University of Paris. Her academic and literary writings have over 600 citations and she has published fourteen books. Dr. Malhotra is presently the Academic Advisor at Soka Ikeda College Chennai, a Member Executive Committee Poetry Society (India), President of Poetry Across Cultures India, and W.P. Ambassador to India (courtesy W. Poetry, Canada). Her literary writings are published in seventeen countries and translated into fourteen languages.Dr. Malhotra’s poems found a prestigious place in the Stanford University initiative - Life in Quarantine: Witnessing Global Pandemic'. Recognitions include The Honours conferred by the World Congress of Poets and by The Ministry of External Affairs, Romania, the Distinguished Visionary Poet Award, WIN Canada, and The World Poetry Almanac Award Mongolia, among others. Dr. Malhotra has translated/co-translated several international poets into English. She’s been an invited delegate at literary Conferences at Kaoshiung, Vancouver, Belgrade, Novisad, Sibiu, Granada, Sydney, and Beijing to name a few. She speaks 5 languages including French.
