In January of 1949 the city of Los Angeles was in the deep freeze. Temperatures sank to historic lows and the greatest of anomalies happened for three Days in the city of Angels, it snowed. On the first night, a troubled aging starlet (Clara Bonnet) is murdered during a swanky Hollywood party. Her career had reached the heights of all that Hollywood had to offer until it broke her and sent her spiraling into darkness. Jack Dassler, a Veteran of World War II and former Stars and Stripes reporter turned tabloid journalist is the first one on the scene and is chasing down the scoop of a lifetime. Through his sources and good old fashion leg work he follows leads that run him afoul of the corrupt police, the mafia, communists, and Hollywood elites. With the help of a colleague and a high-priced call girl he is able to unravel the mystery of who killed Clara Bonnet and possibly lose his life in the process. This is the second full length novel from J Grant Whipple. The first 'The Point' is available wherever finer books are sold.
