Janithma’s first book, Thoughts of a Blossom, is a collection of 25 poems and 19 pieces of prose written at school and at home in the period from June 2010 to May 2014.Among these poems are her first poem written at the age of 5½ years (’Sweet Dreams’), a poem for which she composed music too (’Of thee I sing’) and a poem that gave her the opportunity to attend a Michael Rosen event in 2014 (’Mother Nature’).The prose collection includes her first story (’A Rainy Day’), a write up on her favourite book, an imaginary journey to the past (’A Visit to Ancient China in a Time Machine’) and a book review on Why theWhales Came.Born in Sri Lanka in 2004, Janithma is studying in Year Four at Alexandra Junior School in London in July 2014.
