This Is My Story, This Is My Song is a delightful memoir depicting the life of Rev. James D. Wood. In this charming and engaging collection of stories, Rev. Wood relates his childhood and teenage years, the challenges he faced during college and his service with the U.S. Navy, and ultimately, his call to ministry by God. It was in the mid-1960s and the author was married and raising two children when he experienced the call to ministry that turned his life upside down. After accepting what he regarded as a challenge from God, Wood quit his job, went back to college and then seminary. He received final ordination by the United Methodist Church in 1973 and went on to serve as a minister for more than forty years. Along the way Rev. Wood discovered life to be even more purposeful and adventurous than he had ever imagined. Readers will find the chapters in This Is My Story, This Is My Song prompting smiles, bursts of outright laughter, and inducing tears as the author’s experiences inspire them to recall their own faith journeys. Rev. James D. Wood is a retired United Methodist Minister. He was inspired to write this book by his 53 years of marriage to his wife Martha, and by many of the people in the congregations he served over the years. Although Rev. Wood has written many sermons and church newsletter articles, this is his first memoir.
