I write about my patients because I can’t help it. Their stories, issues, illnesses, courage and their love ... brew inside my heart. This is how I process ... how I reconcile God’s love, God’s purposes and God’s interventions. It is where I learn to be human and love as they do. Otherwise I would be blown over with the finality and deep pain of it all. I am grateful that God allows me participation in His interaction with humanity. I am thankful for my profession ... for this “job,” for this privilege in my life. My patients give me more than I could ever give them. They heal ME. These are their stories ... and mine. Debi Massey LVN, CHPLN, is currently a hospice nurse in the Central Valley of California. She entered the field of nursing and hospice in her early fifties and found the calling of her life. Debi has 3 grown children and four grandchildren whom she calls “the loves of her life”.  She grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona and now resides in Turlock, California. Hospice nursing has filled her life with great joy, as she is honored to care for those who are terminally ill.
