''There Is No Devil: A Romance'' is a novel written by Maurus Jokai and originally published in 1891. The story is set in Hungary during the 18th century and follows the life of a young nobleman named Baron Joseph Krpthy. Joseph is a wealthy and handsome man who enjoys the pleasures of life, but his carefree lifestyle is about to be challenged when he meets a beautiful and mysterious woman named Euthanasia. Euthanasia is a woman who seems to have supernatural powers, and Joseph is immediately drawn to her. However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that Euthanasia is believed to be a witch, and Joseph’s family and society are strongly opposed to any association with her. Despite this, Joseph cannot resist his attraction to Euthanasia and continues to pursue her. As their relationship deepens, Joseph begins to question his beliefs about good and evil, and he starts to wonder if there really is a devil. He becomes increasingly obsessed with Euthanasia and is willing to risk everything to be with her, even if it means going against his family and society. ''There Is No Devil: A Romance'' is a story about love, faith, and the struggle between good and evil. It is a beautifully written novel that explores the complexities of human nature and the power of love to overcome even the strongest of prejudices. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
