The Yellow God is a novel written by H. Rider Haggard, first published in 1908. The story follows the adventures of Allan Quatermain, a British explorer and adventurer, as he travels to Africa in search of a lost white tribe and a mysterious treasure guarded by the Yellow God. Along the way, Quatermain encounters a number of challenges, including dangerous animals, hostile tribes, and treacherous terrain. He is aided in his quest by a group of loyal companions, including the beautiful and enigmatic Stella, who has her own reasons for wanting to find the treasure. As they journey deeper into the heart of Africa, Quatermain and his companions must confront their own fears and weaknesses, as well as the dark secrets and hidden dangers of the land they are exploring. The Yellow God is a thrilling adventure story that combines elements of romance, mystery, and suspense, and is widely regarded as one of Haggard’s finest works. It was the night of full moon and of the great feast of the return of Little Bonsa. Alan sat in his chamber waiting to be summoned to take part in this ceremony and listening the while to that Wow! Wow! Wow! of the death drums, whereof Jeekie had once spoken in England, which could be clearly heard even above the perpetual boom of the cataract tumbling down its cliff behind the town. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world’s literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
